The Capital City Crushers played against Marks Lawn Service this last Saturday as their first basketball game of the season.

Did that get your attention?  Fooled you, you thought we had roller derby bout didn't you?  Wrong answer!

The Capital City Crushers Roller Derby team opted to sponsor a Sunrise Optimist girls basketball team here in Topeka.

The teams are made up of different ages, our team happens to be 2nd and 3rd grade girls from Lyman and East Indianola out of the

Seaman School District.

The Sunrise Optimist's have put together the teams to give the children an opportunity to learn the basic skills of the game.

They are a lot of fun to watch.  Come support them on Saturday mornings, (wear your shirts) and bring the whole family or

just the kids and cheer them on.  Their shirts are white with black lettering.

The games are held on Saturday mornings at the East Indianola gymnasium, come in the West door

and find the team.  The gym is divided so two games are played at the same time.

The games last less than an hour.

The scheduled times are:

Oct. 25 @ 10 AM...

Nov 1 @ 8:30 AM..

Nov 8 @ 9:15AM...

Nov 15 @ 10:45 AM...Pancake Feed also from 7am to 11am ($4.00 each)

and Nov 22 @ 10 AM
