The Capital City Crushers Joins Women’s Flat Track Derby Association
AUSTIN, TEXAS – The Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) is proud to announce today that The Capital City Crushers have been accepted as a full member of the WFTDA, the international governing body for the sport of women’s flat track roller derby and a member organization for leagues to collaborate and network.
As a new member of the WFTDA, the Capital City Crushers join the ranks of over 400 all-female, skater-owned-and-operated leagues worldwide that have united to lead the sport of women's flat track roller derby. After successfully completing the WFTDA Apprentice Program, they can now enjoy the benefits of full WFTDA membership, including the ability to compete in sanctioned games that qualify for WFTDA ranking.The Capital City Crushers will begin their WFTDA membership a Class C member.
The Capital City Crushers are going to be freezin' for a reason again this year. That's right, its Polar Plunge time! The Crushers are going to take the Polar Plunge again in support of the Special Olympics Kansas on February 3, 2018 at Lake Shawnee. The Special Olympics is one of the best, most worth while organizations in existence. We have seen first hand the happiness and joy in a Special Olympian's eyes after they have gained the chance to participate in the activities we all love. Please help us raise money for this wonderful organization! Or better yet, sign up and take the plunge or run the strut with us!

The Capital City Crushers took gold at the 2017 Midwest Derby Fest that took place June 16-18 in Lebanon, Missouri.

Fresh Meat bout: see the Crushers' Fresh Meat players bout against the Little Apple Roller Bombers in Manhattan, KS on May 31st from 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm.

Home Bout: The CCC will face off against the Salina Sirens on June 3rd from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm at Sk8away, Inc. A portion of ticket proceeds will go to the YWCA Center for Safety and Empowerment. If you bring donations to the door you will receive a raffle ticket to win sweet prizes during the bout!
Donations needed include:
Non-perishable food, kid's snacks, bottled water, trash bags, twin sheets and blankets, pillows & pillowcases, plastic cups, sippy cups and bowls, cleaning supplies, ziplock bags, toilet paper, kleenex, laundry detergent, clear plastic storage tubs with lids, paper towels, ethnic hair products (motions brand), feminine hygiene products, full-size shampoo, conditioner, lotion and body wash, deodorant, shave gel & razors, cosmetics, over the counter medicines, band-aids, large diapers, school supplies, coloring books, playdough or modeling clay, backpacks, passes or gift certificates for activities, baby wash and more!
Donations are being collected at 815 Fairlawn Rd, Topeka, KS 66606 from now until the bout!

The Capital City Crushers are on Holiday Break. Practices will resume on January 3rd, 2017. Are you interested in playing roller derby? Stop by and try on some skates! We'll teach you everything you need to know.

In the off season, skaters are always seeking opportunities to get on the track and hit. For the first time in a long time, the Capital City Crushers hosted a mashup for skaters near and far at our home base Sk8away.
