On May 19 the The Crushers will be hosting The MO-KAN Roller Girlz of Joplin, MO. This is a special evening because it will be a double header event featuring The Cowtown Butchers & The Queen City Atomic Playboys men’s league of Springfield, MO!

This evening will be filled with dynamic derby on all fronts. These teams have loads of talent and years of experience so be sure to join us for this once-in-a-season event!

Bout Update: The Crushers were proud to bout against the Veteran City Rollers in the first bout of their inaugural season. The Rollers showed us a great time in Emporia and we hope to show them the return favor when they travel to Topeka on June 16. Put us on your schedule to come see the action!

The Crushers will be hitting the road to face The Veteran City Rollers on April 14. This is the home debut for VCR and we are excited to be bouting against them for the first time!

It’s only a short drive down the turnpike to Emporia so come on out and support local roller derby at it’s finest!

Bout starts at 7 PM so get there early. Tickets are $13 at the door, $10 advance.

First Bout of the Crusher 2012 Season!

Ladies and Gentlemen - the first Crusher bout of the new season has declared the Green squad the victors over the Black squad – but only by a narrow margin of 129 to 111. It was a great way to open the Crusher 2012 bout season. We appreciate all the support of our fans who came out to watch and cheer us on. You guys are awesome!

Our next bout is an away game in Emporia against the Flint hills Fury on April 14. They are newest derby team in the midwest and we are looking forward to bouting against them next month. Come join us!

Once again, the Capital City Crushers “crushed” it at The Topeka Polar Plunge 2012, benefiting The Special Olympics. The Crushers were took home the top prize for largest amount of plungers in one group and raised over $2,000 for the event. Runners and Plungers alike participated in the event to make it a great success!

The Topeka Polar Plunge & Strut is Coming January 28!

That’s right! It’s time to sponsor your favorite participating roller girl for the Polar Plunge & Strut at Lake Shawnee on January 28, 2012. The Polar Strut (5K) begins at 11 AM and the Polar Plunge starts at noon. Last year was a great event with The Crushers taking the prize for largest participating group. We plan on bringing home the prize again in 2012.

Toys for Tots was a “Crushing” Success!

The annual Toys for Tots Skate with The Crushers Night was a great turnout on Saturday night! the Crushers would like to thank everyone who donated toys for the cause. And a special thanks to Miss Tina for donating valuable Sk8away time for all this to happen.

Miracle on Kansas Avenue Parade

The Miracle on Kansas Avenue parade will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011. The parade begins at 6:00 pm ~ staging area will open at 4:00 pm. The community Christmas Tree will be lit at 5:30 pm in at 818 S. Kansas Avenue. The Capital City Crushers Women’s Roller Derby team and the Chick Whips Jr Roller Derby team will be attending and passing out our schedules and candy!

All parade entries in this annual extravaganza are lighted to bring that special holiday glow to Downtown. Walkers along the sides of the parade will have candy for the kids, and Santa Claus will make the opening of the holiday season official.
